It is very difficult for creative people to realize an innovative idea is only a good idea if it can achieve the goal. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I remember writing a very clever commercial for a candidate for Congress. The candidate was a newcomer to politics and few voters knew his name. Because the spot didn't repeat his name several times, the commercial did not work. Viewers might have remembered the ad, but not who it was for. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So I went back to the keyboard to write an ad that was boring but effective. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The candidate won.&lt;/p&gt;
